• You're a nonprofit or not-for-profit organization. (If your official status isn't finalized yet, that's OK.)

• Animals are at the core of your mission.

Yes, our service is 100% free. Vegan Hacktivists is a nonprofit, and we exist to serve the animal protection movement. We don't charge for our time or expertise.

That said, AI tools often do have costs, although there are usually significant nonprofit discounts. We'll help you set things up and can advise on keeping costs low.

No problem! Many organizations know AI could help but aren’t sure where to begin. Once you tell us about your work, we can help identify good starting points. You don't need a technical background, just a willingness to talk through your work and learn new approaches.

The right tools depend on your organization’s needs and existing systems. We commonly work with AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and automation platforms such as n8n, Make, and Zapier. We start with the problem and your team to figure out what is best for you.

You do! When implementation is part of the work, we aim to build in accounts your organization controls and make sure your team understands how everything works.

In some cases, VH may host or manage part of a workflow when that is the best option.

Follow-up depends on the type of support and the scope we agree on. Some organizations may receive an AI action plan or a single working session. Other projects may include training or focused implementation sprints.

After our official engagement ends (usually at the end of the quarter), you can always reach back out to us at hello@veganhacktivists.org to re-engage or get pointed to community resources.

To keep things transparent, here are some things that fall outside our scope:

• Work involving high-risk domains (medical, legal, or financial liability) without specialist oversight.

• 24/7 technical support or permanent outsourced development.

• Anything that conflicts with our mission and values.

We also can't guarantee that AI automations and builds will work perfectly forever – tools update and changes happen. But we'll do our best to set you up to handle those changes yourself, or direct you to someone who can help.

The initial application does not require access to your systems or sensitive organizational data.

If later work requires access, here is our approach:

• We use only the minimum data needed and default to sanitized or anonymized examples for AI drafting and testing.

• We never upload sensitive data (PII, donor lists, financial or legal data, credentials) to third-party AI tools without your explicit approval.

• We use privacy-preserving settings wherever available.

• We limit access to your data to need-to-know team members only.

• We'll ask you to sign an NDA and Service Agreement before any work begins.

You stay in control of which services are connected, what permissions are granted, and you can revoke access at any time.

The application form has all of the questions you’ll need to answer initially. The form asks questions like:

• What your organization does.

• Where your team would like AI help the most.

• How you currently use AI, if at all.

• Which tools and systems are central to your work.

• Common tasks and workflows that take up a lot of time.

After you apply, there’s nothing else you need to do to prepare before we reach out.

Our capacity is limited, and we can't take on every project – but that doesn't mean your work isn't important. If we can't help you right now:

1. We’ll try to share relevant resources, referrals, or next steps.

2. You can always reapply in future quarters if you still need support.

3. Feel free to email us anytime – we're happy to answer quick questions even outside of a formal engagement.
